Biography

Bill Coakley has been a key contributor in the Biopharmaceutical and Medical Diagnostics industries for over 25 years. He has experience in global, multi-division and start-up companies directing supply chain activities for such companies as Genzyme Corporation, Genetics Institute, Quest Diagnostics, Celera and Rexall Sundown.

Bill was the Co-founder and first Chairperson for the Massachusetts Biotech Council’s (M.B.C.) Purchasing Committee. It was due to its success that he was asked to help establish the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Purchasing Committee and become their first Chairperson.

Bill earned an MBA from Anna Maria College (Paxton, MA) and a BBA in Business Management from University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA). He has been active in APICS and ISM for over 20 years and has served on the board of director’s for both associations. Bill was awarded the International Purchasing Person of the Year by ISM and has a lifetime certification in Purchasing Management (C.P.M.).

Bill recently had the good fortune of seeing two of his sons graduate from college and a third enlist in the Air Force. He is also a passionate Red Sox fan and a season ticket holder with Cal football.
